My life mantra is from the wise words of the 14th Dalai Lama:
“Help others, if you can’t help them, then at least don’t hurt them.”
I understand that in today’s busy and hectic life schedules, sometimes we just don’t have the luxury of time to drive to and from an off leash dog park and give our dogs the one to two hours of exercise and release they need in their lives. So in providing my dog services, I hope to help you and your dog attain a healthy lifestyle and relationship! We all know the importance of the Pillars of Health: proper nutrition, adequate exercise, mental stimulation and positive social relationships! While I can’t provide all those things, I believe that my overnight boarding and daycare services will help to contribute to a healthy exercise routine, provide social interactions with other dogs and mental and sensual stimulations for the five senses for your fur baby!
Aside from my previous academic accolade (Bachelor of Education Degree from the U of A and a Registered Massage Therapist Diploma from MaKami College), I believe in life long learning and that includes my ongoing learning and knowledge of dogs and dog behaviours! Currently I am enrolled in the Edmonton Humane Society's Dog Trainer course, "Dog Behaviour and Training Methodology Certificate".
Most of my learning and knowledge come from my day to day interactions with the dogs in my care at the park and in my home over the past 7+ years. As they say, “Experience is the best teacher”, and “Nothing beats experience!”
The core of my services is the amazing adventure your dog experiences during each park walk as it gives them the freedom to run, sniff, explore and meet other dogs! We spend one to two hours exploring the many different trails at any one of the four amazing natural off leash dog parks that I like to frequent: Terwilligar Park, Buena Vista Park, Hermitage Park and Deermound Park. You are always welcome to come join one of our daily walking experiences so you can see for yourself what your dog will experience! Shoot me a text to schedule a tag along with your pooch, free of charge!
